Policy Area : Misc Closing date : 05/08/2010

Other information :

Dear ERLAI members,

Please, consider the following partner searches I received from London Councils, ERLAI network members, and Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (Italy):

- The London Borough of Wandsworth  is searching for partners for a PROGRESS social experimentation project. This fund supports projects that aim to test the impact and effectiveness of new social policies and activities, with a view to deciding whether they are appropriate for incorporation into mainstream delivery.

Wandsworth’s project will develop and pilot a transferrable Family Learner toolkit and evaluation handbook to combat anti-social behaviour (behaviour that lacks consideration for others and that may cause damage to society). The toolkit will provide practical tools and methods for intensive, assertive outreach and learning. It will focus on the teaching of social behaviour and emotional intelligence.  See the attached document for more information on the project.

If you are interested in partnering with Wandsworth in this project, please contact Lyn Degenhardt (telephone: +44 7717 534006 mobile or  +44 1323 891554 landline, email:  ldegenhardt@wandsworth.gov.uk or  lyndegenhardt@btinternet.com). by 5th August. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 August.

- Friuli Venezia Giulia Region would like to express its interest in taking part as a partner (possibility of being lead applicant to be evaluated), in the “Progress call for proposal for social experimentations “, you can find in the following link: http://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=630&langId=en&callId=263&furtherCalls=yes. The deadline is 31st August.

Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has been experimenting and supporting for several years strategic policies aimed at strengthening community-based care through:

-         Integration of policies and resources from health sector and social inclusion sector

-         Support to community development and community-based welfare

-         Definition of innovative public-private organizational models

In the template attached (n.2) you can have an overview of the activities of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region related to the transition from institutional care to community-based alternatives in respect of the elderly and disabled persons (including persons with mental health problems). A more detailed project proposal will follow.

If interested, you can get in touch, as soon as possible, with Mr. Gian Matteo APUZZO Tel: +39 0432 933130, email: matteo.apuzzo@welfare.fvg.it or Friuli Venezia Giulia - Liaison Office in Bruxelles, contact person: Mrs.Luisa POCLEN Tel. number: 0032 2 500 88 40
