The European Union (EU) is the world's largest trading block. It is the main destination for exports from Yorkshire and Humber. Eight of the UK's top trading partners are EU Member States. EU policy and legislation impacts directly on our region, influencing the development of our environment and our businesses. As a modern region, we need to seize the opportunities that EU membership offers us - to grow our trade, maintain our competitiveness, influence our future.

To achieve this, we have to:
  • Be familiar with, understand and influence EU policy and legislation
  • Be aware of the funding possibilities and work with other regions to exploit these
  • Raise the profile of Yorkshire and Humber in Europe

This is why Yorkshireurope is based at the heart of EU action in Brussels.

What does Yorkshireurope do?

Using our knowledge and experience, we support organisations interested in these European opportunities. We provide early intelligence about current and emerging funding opportunities. To access this, you need to work with other European partners. We help you to set up these relationships, working with like minded organisations from regions from all over Europe.
